Behind our house is a bog. Sofie and I took a walk down the lane above and it opened up into the bog! I know it probably doesn't look like much but you can smell the peat. The dirt is different too--like broken pieces of dense brownies. That's one thing you notice right away here--the smell of burning peat. At first it was very distinct. I suppose we're getting used to it now, but I even think it smells good!
The lanes are nice to walk--very quiet, no cars (well, we only saw two) and lots of puddles covered with ice. Sofie had to stomp on every single one. When it warms up a little, I'll put on my running shoes and see where I can go!
